In 1939, Harwood K. Smith and his wife, Kate, began our practice from a small office above Highland Park Village retail center in Dallas. From that humble beginning, HKS has grown into a firm with 23 offices across the globe. Our Dallas roots are deep with hundreds of projects across the Metroplex ranging from commercial to hospitality, health to sports and education to aviation. Our work has been recognized for its outstanding design and performance. As a committed member of the greater Dallas community, we believe in giving generously through our ideas, our expertise and our time to make this city one of the world’s best places to live and work.
